They are vacuum-kiln dried to an average of 6-10% moisture content. THESE DOWELS MAY BE SLIGHTLY OBLONG DUE TO DRYING PROCESS!! The dimensions MAY VARY due to slight rips and tears in the doweled billet. The length will remain 36″, however. These dowels may not make perfect 2.75″ diameter pieces. They are vacuum-kiln dried to an average of 6-10% moisture content. VERY LARGE STOCK AVAILABLE!! CURLY FIGURE IN THESE DOWELS WILL VARY FROM MEDIUM TO HIGH OR EVEN EXTREME GRADE! Curly figure may not be visible from pictures due to lighting and angle of the picture. Rest assured that these ARE curly hard maple dowels! This product is a CHEAP alternative to our perfect grade #1 dowels for your woodworking projects! These doweled blanks are tossed out from a large inventory of wood due to rips/tears/knots/cracks/slight warps/twist and other imperfections. There is STILL usable material available in these pieces, but there may not be enough to create a 2.75″x36″ dowel.
