They are generally very close to the actual color, but are even more useful to see the transparency, flow, granulation and other characteristics of each different color of paint. These are full, unopened tubes of paint (on a rare occasion I may open one to clean the threads, as once in a while a cap is loose and a little paint leaks out when the tube is shipped to me). The tubes may have dents, but the quality of the paint inside is guaranteed (you will find dents and dings on almost all tubes of Daniel Smith and Winsor & Newton paint sold on eBay, and on many of those sold elsewhere). The tubes will of course get dents as soon as you start using them, anyway, as squeezing them is the only way to get the paint out! Rich green gold is one of Daniel Smith’s most perishable colors. I have dried out tubes of this color I am selling for only $2.50 each. Most still have some liquid paint in the tube, but the paint below the cap is dried out. You might be able to stick a nail or something in there to clear out the dried paint so the liquid paint can come through. If that doesn’t work, or if the tube is completely dried out (which is rare), you can cut the tube open with a pair of scissors and use the paint like a half pan. Some of these tubes may have dents in them, but all are guaranteed to be full and unused. There may be an occasional defective tube.
